About

Barrow 125 started on long away‑day conversations about memorabilia and memories: where had our history gone, what had survived the rebuilds, and could we bring it home? The answer was a resounding yes – from the Club and the Dock Museum to the Bluebirds Trust, collectors, historians and, most importantly, supporters.

We are marking the club’s 125th year by putting people at the heart of the story. Fans as historians. Artefacts rescued and shared. Oral histories recorded and archived. A commemorative website launched to gather it all. On 16 June 2026 – exactly 125 years from the Drill Hall meeting – the Dock Museum will host a co‑created exhibition and Community Day, with spoken word, film, and family activities that connect the club to the town that built it.

The Supporters’ Heritage Museum at Holker Street will repurpose a space at the ground for a permanent, volunteer‑curated archive. The Heritage Trail will place blue plaques and murals across the town, linked by QR codes to stories on this site and by a Dock Museum app for walking, running and cycling. Local leaders of education and sport are co‑designing a curriculum that uses these resources to teach history, geography and identity through Barrow AFC.

Project aims include widening participation, amplifying local voices, and building a digital legacy that is accessible to all. Grants and fundraising will help digitise collections, fit out the museum, and support community events – but the heart of Barrow 125 is simple: play your part, share your story, and help us hand the club’s history to those who come next.

"From that first time at Holker Street, Barrow AFC captured my imagination – an interest that has never waned." – Lewis Oliver
