"Every inch of this great town was built by its own son"
Semper Sursum
FOUNDED IN 1901
Barrow AFC began with a meeting at the old Drill Hall on The Strand on 16 July 1901 – in a town that had risen from a small village to a hive of shipbuilding and steel. Our badge tells that story: the submarine for specialist craft, the red rose for our Lancashire enclave, and the bee–arrow for Barrow’s ingenuity. From those first steps to Holker Street, the club has been shaped by the graft and grit of Barrovians and by the voices that made the terraces sing.
Barrow 125 is a supporter-led celebration of that journey. Together with the Club, the Bluebirds Trust, the Dock Museum and local historians, we are co‑creating an exhibition, a town‑wide heritage trail, a Supporters’ Heritage Museum at Holker Street, and education resources for pupils across Furness. This website is the hub: stories, artefacts, films, and ways to get involved – all building a living legacy for the next generation.
